Closing 2025 with 1,700+ zero-cost books

Hello Dear Friend,

As 2025 begins to wind down, I’ve been feeling a little reflective… and very grateful.

This year held a big, tender milestone for me: the publication of Courage, Dear Heart. Writing this book asked me to go deep. It was emotional, vulnerable, and honest in ways I didn’t fully expect when I began. And hearing from readers who felt seen, comforted, or understood by its pages has been one of the greatest gifts of this year.

As we look toward 2026, I want to say thank you. Thank you for reading, for sharing kind words, for recommending my work, for showing up here. Your support—quiet or enthusiastic, private or public—matters more than you know.

I’m heading into the new year hopeful, inspired, and excited about what’s next… and I’d love your help with one fun thing.

What books are you excited to read in 2026?
What stories stayed with you this year?

Hit reply and send me your favorite recommendations. I’m building my 2026 TBR list and would love to fill it with books you loved.

And if Courage, Dear Heart (or any of my other stories) is still waiting for you, all of my books are available on Kindle Unlimited, ready whenever the mood for an emotional, heartfelt read strikes.

Wishing you a beautiful close to 2025 and a 2026 filled with great stories, brave hearts, and moments that move you.

With gratitude,

My friends call me Sister Callie. I'm the good girl. The responsible one who never took a risk and always did what was expected of me.

But that was before Jayden Reed stood before me, shirtless, jeans unbuttoned, and a sinful smile that promised to do wicked, wicked things to me.

I want him. I want to be reckless. I want one wild night. Consequences be damned, it’s time to be a bad, bad girl. Except I never imagined the consequences would come with a side of murder.

"The love of books is a love which requires neither justification, apology, nor defense." —.A. Langford

Until next year!

2025 wasn’t an easy year for me, and I know many of you felt that too. My hope is that 2026 will be gentler. Filled with kindness, joy, and moments where love shows up and reminds us what matters most.

Happy Reading and Happy New Year!
Much love,

Erica

In This Month’s Adventure… Apparently, I’ve become the person neighborhood wildlife comes to when things go sideways. Earlier this month, in another edition of ā€œStuff I Didn’t Sign Up For but Will Always Step In When Needed,ā€ I found myself rescuing a baby bunny from Morgan, one of the feral cats I feed. I went outside that morning to feed the cats, and there was Morgan, proudly carrying a baby bunny like she’d brought me a present. I chased Morgan around until she dropped her prize. I...

A New Chapter... Ten days ago, my firstborn, the child who made me a mother, packed up and moved a thousand miles away to begin an exciting new chapter in his life. He graduated last year with a degree in biomedical engineering and completed his master's degree this past May. He got a job offer back in February. I've been preparing myself for the day he would leave. As parents we know this day would come. We raise our children to become independent, confident adults, even though our hearts...

Happy June, my friends! Not much is happening around here this week, but I do have two stories to share. First, my son surprised me with the coolest gift. He ordered an apron from William Sonoma, hand-drew Baby Yoda in Illustrator, and then embroidered the design himself. Let me repeat that: he drew it and then embroidered it. I can barely sew on a button, so I'm beyond impressed. How adorable is this? I absolutely love it, and it may be my new favorite kitchen accessory. My second story...
