It's my birthday (almost) and a new book (kind of)

Hello friends!
Spring has finally arrived. The cherry trees are in bloom, flowers are popping up everywhere, and dandelions have officially taken over the yard. Best of allāIām no longer freezing. š
Lately, Iāve been working on a couple of projects, including something completely new for me: fantasy.
Iāve always loved reading fantasy and paranormalātheyāre my favoritesāand this particular story has been living in my head for years. I finally started writing it.
Iāll admit, writing fantasy feels very different from contemporary romance. Itās exciting⦠and just a little intimidating. But in the best way.
Please send a little good-vibe magic my wayāIām going to need it as I dive into this new world.

Also, I have a birthday coming up on the 22nd, and Iām trying to wrap my head around this milestone.
Turning 30 didnāt faze me. Turning 40? Still fine. Turning 50⦠okay, that one bugged me a little.
But now Iām staring down at 60, but I still feel like Iām in my twenties.
Until I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror.
That little traitor is out here telling unnecessary truths.
All that said⦠thereās something quietly powerful about this age, too. Starting new things. Taking creative risks. Writing stories that have been waiting for years to be told.
So here I amāon the edge of 60 and diving into fantasy.
Which feels a little wild⦠and exactly right.

She thinks heās a player with an ego,
But all he wants is to star in her dreams.
I moved to Hollywood with one goal in mind: earn a starring role on the silver screen. But nothing has gone to plan since.
Meeting Char, the hottest woman I've ever seen, didnāt go as planned either. After feeding her the dumbest line ever, she barely acknowledges my presence, insisting my ego will ruin my Hollywood dreams. Charās proven right when I lose out on the role of a lifetime.
Picking up my ego off the floor, I grab a job as a roadie with the band Char manages just in time to hit the road on their tour. Itās the perfect opportunity for me to earn her trust, and hopefully, a place in her heart.
Maybe my acting career hasnāt gone as planned, but this is one role I'm playing to win.
Not Another Player is the second book in the Hollywood Stories series of full-length, standalone romances told from the Hero's point of view with no cliffhangers and a guaranteed happily ever after.
My friends call me Sister Callie. I'm the good girl. The responsible one who never took a risk and always did what was expected of me.
But that was before Jayden Reed stood before me, shirtless, jeans unbuttoned, and a sinful smile that promised to do wicked, wicked things to me.
I want him. I want to be reckless. I want one wild night. Consequences be damned, itās time to be a bad, bad girl. Except I never imagined the consequences would come with a side of murder.

In This Monthās Adventure⦠Apparently, Iāve become the person neighborhood wildlife comes to when things go sideways. Earlier this month, in another edition of āStuff I Didnāt Sign Up For but Will Always Step In When Needed,ā I found myself rescuing a baby bunny from Morgan, one of the feral cats I feed. I went outside that morning to feed the cats, and there was Morgan, proudly carrying a baby bunny like sheād brought me a present. I chased Morgan around until she dropped her prize. I...
A New Chapter... Ten days ago, my firstborn, the child who made me a mother, packed up and moved a thousand miles away to begin an exciting new chapter in his life. He graduated last year with a degree in biomedical engineering and completed his master's degree this past May. He got a job offer back in February. I've been preparing myself for the day he would leave. As parents we know this day would come. We raise our children to become independent, confident adults, even though our hearts...
Happy June, my friends! Not much is happening around here this week, but I do have two stories to share. First, my son surprised me with the coolest gift. He ordered an apron from William Sonoma, hand-drew Baby Yoda in Illustrator, and then embroidered the design himself. Let me repeat that: he drew it and then embroidered it. I can barely sew on a button, so I'm beyond impressed. How adorable is this? I absolutely love it, and it may be my new favorite kitchen accessory. My second story...
